We are gradually updating the lab website to reflect our new environs and appreciate your patience.

We seek to understand the genetic factors contributing to genomic variation and phenotypic diversity. To this end, we combine the power of experimental evolution with high-throughput genomic and genome editing approaches to address fundamental questions in biology and evolution regards the rates, fitness effects and evolutionary dynamics of spontaneous mutations.

Our research interests encompass a wide range of other topics, including the evolution of organellar and nuclear genomes, the evolution of reproductive isolation, and the origin of novel genes by duplication. Our team’s roadmap for future research includes investigating the consequences of mutations for gene expression and function, with important implications for evolutionary theory, biological conservation and human/veterinary health.
